Undoubtedly one of the top Roussanne's made in Australia. A truly beautiful wine that showcases the fragrance and perfume of roussanne, with texture and power one comes to expect from the Northern Rhone, but with a superb refreshing acid line.
Producer Notes - "The Roussanne grape owes its name to the reddish or russet bloom it develops on its skin as it reaches full maturity. This grape is late ripening and ideally suited to the Barossa climate.

The Steading is much more than just Tobreck's version of the very classic Chateauneuf-du-Pape Grenache blend. The winery feels it is a wine that resides at the heart of Torbreck, exemplifying their belief in the preservation of Barossa Valley as a premium wine region.
Sourced primarily pre-phylloxera vines that survived not only the outbreak in the 1880s, but also the vine pull scheme in the 1980s, across 45 different sources including estate fruit and trusted local growers under a share-farming … more

46% Grenache/44% Mataro/10% Shiraz.
Winery Notes - "Moppa Springs, Ebenezer and Kalimna are some of the driest areas in the Barossa, where green vines grow on one side of the fence and ripened wheat on the other. This hard country is cold, wet, and frosty during pruning, then hot, dry and dusty during harvest. These are the kind of tough conditions that ensure Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz give their best. These varieties and the families who grow them earned the … more

"Wow. An especially exciting, vibrant nose of sharply defined raspberry, plum, redcurrant and deeper tones of blackberry. Fruit purity also shapes the front palate, which is clean, lean and beautifully poised; a string quartet bowing a long, exquisite harmonic line. This shapes a new definition of Barossa intensity, its fruit being nimble and dextrous atop a serious, studied bedrock. It will be fascinating to see how this develops." 98/100. Producer Notes - "The Naimanya vineyard sits high in the tiny sub-region of Flaxman's Valley on soils of sandy loam, gravel and quartz over clay. At 520m elevation it is amongst the highest Shiraz vineyards in South Australia. Fair winter rains and a cool summer gave us a healthy crop of excellent quality. Hand picked on the 7th April, 70% destemmed, 30% whole bunch, pressed to French oak (10% new, Saint Martin), matured for 20 months in barrel. 1940 bottles … more

Wnery Notes - "The name Rod & Spur acknowledges the contribution of our growers who spend the cold Barossa winters hand pruning their vines in the traditional rod and spur method. This wine is a return to the great Australian reds of the 1950's and 60's, when Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon blends dominated the premium market. This very Australian blend is not common in other wine regions of the world."

Winery Notes "A beautiful, deep red in colour. Perfumed and seductive with alluring floral notes, red licorice, blackcurrant and dark cherry aromas. The palate is delightfully refined and balanced with generous, dark red cherry fruit merging into ironstone tannins. This is a full-bodied wine of great balance, style and defined fruit characteristics with a long, lingering tannin profile. A very elegant Signature" Matured for 19 months in 23% new Hungarian hogsheads, French barriques and hogsheads.

Our stoic 1894-planted Command vineyard is in the heart of the Barossa Valley, in Nuriootpa. At the western end the vines in alluvial soils border the Para River, and clay content rises in the soils as the vines head east towards our Cellar Door. Command is the sum of several small batch picks to ensure we capture every part of the vineyard at optimum flavour concentration. We hand harvested this fruit over three weeks, allowing for the ripening process across … more

Hutton Vale Farm was first established in 1843 by John Howard Angas, and now managed by the current custodians, seventh-generation Stuart and Caitlin Angas. Situated next door to the Mt Edelstone Vineyard that was planted by Ronald Angas, this has to be one of the most historic properties/wineries in Australia.
The 'old' block that comprises this wine, was planted in the 1960s with cuttings taken from the nearby Mt Edelstone vineyard.

Producer Notes - "An impressive star of the 2018 vintage. Medium deep, dense, red in colour. Cool, fresh aromas of perfumed mints, blueberry, small red berries and red spicy cedar notes. Some leafy aromatics appear as the wine opens up over time. A refined and complex palate that is delightfully fresh with seamlessly integrated oak. Generous red berry fruit is wrapped in finely honed tannins. A medium to full bodied wine with a long flowing tannin profile. A very refined … more
