AMARANTA Montepulciano D’Abruzzo is a cru wine obtained from Abruzzo’ s most important red grape, the Montepulciano D’Abruzzo. This wine represents our commitment to making the utmost of the spectacular terroirs and microclimates that Abruzzo region offers.
The origin of this grape has always been uncertain. Cultivated mainly in Abruzzo and the other regions of centre-south Italy. Today, thanks to the passion of some producers and winemakers, Montepulciano D’Abruzzo has emerged to the international limelight as one of the best … more

The estate is home to the world-class wine that started the Super Tuscan movement - Sassicaia.
"The wine was created for two reasons: first of all, the desire to see what we could accomplish with Merlot, a grape that we had never used before; second, the desire to offer the consumer a wine which could be appreciated at a younger age compared to our veteran Sassicaia." - Nicolo Incisa, Director of Tenuta San Guido

This is an exceptionally elegant Barolo with great depth. It shows strawberry and raspberry, as well as lifted floral notes on the nose. It has balanced acidity and freshness, delivering cherry, spice and delicious savoury undertones, with fine, well-structured tannins. The fruit comes from the south-west-facing portion of the Montanello Cru. Fermentation and maceration take 25 days and then it is aged in
only 2500 litre Slavonian oak botti for 24 months before being aged further in bottle.

"Being one of the first on the scene in Etna imparted Marco de Grazia with insights into the region that few others possess. Because of this, he's been able to grow the Tenuta delle Terre Nere portfolio by leaps and bounds over the last 20 years while staying ahead of the curve the entire way.": Eric Guido, Vinous.com 2024

Winery Notes "Made from 100% sangiovese grapes coming from different vineyards located on the south-east/west side of Montalcino, at altitudes varying from 250 to 400 m MSL. The southeast soils are made up of sandy loam, with limestone plates and plenty of heavy stone. The wine ages for several months in French and Slavonian oak barrels, and in bottle. Deep ruby red in colour with violet highlights. Intensely fruity and fresh with aroma of cherry, plum and sour cherry. Smooth … more
"The 2016 Barolo La Villa is a beguiling wine that needs a bit of time in bottle to fully open up. Then again, it is a young Barolo, so that is very much to be expected. Dried herbs, mint, licorice, dark cherry, underbrush and a whole range of spiced/balsamic notes fill out the layers. Next to the straight Barolo, La Villa has more body, depth and texture. It is another fine effort from Seghesio." - Antonio Galloni

Vermentino from Sardinia. This is a refreshing, cleansing and bright white wine from an idyllic Mediterranean climate. A bright straw colour with green/golden glints. Fresh floral nose with hints of apple/pear and a slight saline overture. Focused and fresh on the palate with an underlying minerality coming through. A cracking wine for the price which will be especially delicious as we approach the warmer months.
A blend of several small parcels of vines from a number of communes, Le Vigne is Luciano Sandrone's ode to "traditional" or blended Barolo. All of the sites that go into Le Vigne are markedly different in terms of altitude, soil and exposure, and together they help provide a broad overview of Barolo in a given year. As with the previous release, this wine now includes fruit from four communes: Barolo (Vignane), Serralunga (Baudana), Novello (Merli) and a new source … more

Made from 100% Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo), in the Teglio sub region of Lombardy.
Monica Larner - The Wine Advocate
"With the grape variety recorded as Nebbiolo and its synonym Chiavennasca on the front label, the Sandro Fay 2020 Valtellina Superiore Valgella Costa Bassa offers pretty intensity that gives vertical lift and a direct approach to the bouquet. You get hibiscus and a note of purple fruit or flower, maybe lilac. The mouthfeel is fragile and wispy with a delicate, ethereal quality. … more

"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Le Baròncole (a certified organic wine) shows bright fruit with summer cherry and redcurrant. It offers textural heft and weight. Its Riserva status (with extended aging) is well noted. With time in the glass, it unfolds to leather, potting soil and crushed stone. This vintage does however show a more accessible personality overall (and a powerful 15% alcohol content)." 94, Monica Larner - Wine Advocate

Glera (min. 85%) and other local white grape varieties (max. 15%),.
Producer Notes - "Against the light, its intense, subtle perlage, its colour, which becomes bright green, and its compact froth can be appreciated. To the nose, it evokes late spring with its hints of peach and yellow apple while the taste is harmonious, pleasurably savoury and acidulous.
Ideal as an aperitif and excellent throughout the meal. This wine goes particularly well with sea bass and sea bream fillets as … more

This is 90% Sangiovese with 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino, aged in tonneaux and barriques for twelve months. An intense ruby-red colour with violet reflections, the fruity aroma is atypical of Sangiovese with notes of cherry and wild berries. Harmonious, well-structured and lightly tannic, it is a wine that can easily mature for a period ranging from four to eight years.
