"Roasted cherries, warmed clove and star anise aromas waft from the glass as dried floral hints and wild thyme rise as the wine opens. Mouthfilling with loads of mixed wild berries fresh, dried and preserved all combined with oak spice finishing with subtle earth and superfine tannins." Wine Ethusiast

Fate or history decreed that the Bera property would finish a tantalizing 400 metres just outside the Barbaresco zone. Typically unperturbed, Walter Bera has gradually developed a collection of the Piemontese classics, with each beautifully made, rich and strongly expressive - and great value.
The Barbera shows deep, rich fruit, but with great complexity and always freshness, life and zip. Here they maximized the deep plummy juiciness and concentration, and retain the savoury edge to go so well with many … more

Located in the heart of le Marche, Borgo Paglianetto is an entirely organic winery that paints a perfect picture of what Matelica offers. This Verdicchio is saline and refreshing, herbaceous notes of cucumber water and green pear, matched with savoury almond oil texture to the palate.

Giovanni Bortoluzzi's first career as a consultant winemaker and bottler in Friuli gave him inside knowledge of the region, leading him to the gravelly, mineral-enriched deposit of the diverted Isonzo River that would become Bortoluzzi's first vineyard. The Pinot Grigio that grows there exudes lush floral fruit and is both mellow and fresh at the same time with notes of spring flowers and considerable weight and style at a great price point.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, 'king of all wines' according to poet Francesco Redi in the 17th century, bears a family resemblance to both Chianti Classico and Brunello, as it is made from clone of Sangiovese that, in this region, is known as Prugnolo Gentile.

Where once Dolcetto d'Abla was rough and rustic, you' find now they are often supple and glou glou. Brezza's dolcetto is a prime example of this - bright and fresh with little to no oak influence. Deliciously moreish, we often find ourselves dreaming of a glass of this and a good pizza.
"Bricco Giubellini is easily the most exciting young Barolo producer I have tasted for some time."
Antonio Galloni
Established in 2000 by Maria Bianucci and Gigi Garanzini, Bricco Giubellini is the highest vineyard in Monforte d'Alba at 530 metres and the smallest single vineyard at just 0.33 hectares. The wines, made by our friend Fabio Fantino, have until recently only been available locally - locally, as in the village of Monforte! We liked the wines so much we bought the … more
