The length and persistence here is unquestionable. The wine spent an average of 30 days on skins before being gently pressed into 50% new French oak barrels for maturation. This wine belongs next to a dirty martini in a lounge with trouble on the mind. Or just drink by your fireplace and make good decisions. Up to you. Dusty leather, camphor, cinnamon, blackberries, green spice, and the sweet scent of a cigar box. So much fruit in the mouth, balanced with juicy acid and tannins that grip and then ease. This is a powerful wine. Pair with lingerie and hand sanitizer. It shows in this wine especially. Fresh mint, smoky shiso leaf, intense black fruit, rose and wisteria, spicy clove, and citrus peel. There's an earthy, chalky loveliness to this wine, but make no mistake... She will dominate you. I would definitely eat food with this wine. Maybe some green curry, udon, pasta arrabbiata, with Edith Piaf playing in the background.
