14.5%, this is a characteristic 14 vintage for us. A vintage not given anywhere near enough air-time, this is a perfect example of how beautiful it can be. Compact and focused with crunchy red-fruited purity, cranberries, currants, wild strawberries with perfumed talc notes and a suggestion of mandarin peel - super enticing with a precision of frame, underlying minerality and beautiful freshness.

For all who criticized the 2014 vintage across the board, this is a great counterpoint. Opening with enticing scents of new leather, rose, camphor and perfumed berry, it's a textbook Serralunga Barolo. The chiselled palate is radiant, delivering juicy Marasca cherry, spiced cranberry and liquorice while firm, fine-grained tannins provide taut support.
